Hi Glenn,

Very nice writeup. I really enjoyed reading it. We couldn't make it to the summit last month as we lost some valuable time bush whacking & getting lost! Will get some tips from u in Turtle Rock before next attempt at snow shoeing San Jacinto.

What an incredible adventure. I'm getting ready to go on my first Grand Canyon backpacking adventure, which will also be my first backpacking trip. I'm going with Just Roughin' It for this trip which is good for me because they provide everything you need and a professional guide who is knowledgeable about the area; it was hard to decide what trail to do in the canyon, but I choose Havasupai. After seeing your pictures I'm even more excited to explore Havasu Falls!

I came across this as I was researching my next backpacking trip...to the San Mateo Wilderness. I'm soooo jealous that you have a son to share your experience and pass on your knowledge on to. I have daughters who don't share my love of the outdoors. I love them to death, but I wish I had a mini-me as well.

I'm inspired Glenn! I sincerely hope my kids will get into backpacking too. The only thing I'm thinking is that while Cole is just 2, I have to wait 7 years!!! Your trip sounds like it was a great success and actually, I've never been to that area and am interested in checking it out.

The older adult brother on this trip (his first backpacking) loved it and has now been asked to be an adult volunteer for a 9 day backpacking trip into Yosemite with his church's high school group. The younger brother was grateful for having an older brother go with him and is definitely ready to go again - Thank you Glen for providing this opportunity for my boys!

As Glenn's little sister and Gregory's Aunt, I am very proud of these two. I am the Mother of the dog they speak of, Jacob Tanner, aka "Jake." I'm not exactly an avid hiker, but am happy to loan my dog to Glenn and Gregory anytime they wish to take him on a hike. Jake came back exhausted and I know the trip was just what he needed. Congrats to Glenn and Gregory for a successful father & son backpacking adventure.
